Liberty Equestrian Training Center
and Dressage Services, LLC
Now located in the Madison, WI area, Liberty Equestrian Training Center and Dressage Services, LLC is welcoming new students.
Gail Kelln and Wayne Kiehnau have run Liberty Equestrian Training Center since 1989, originally in Fort Atkinson. Using Gail's background in classical dressage and teaching people how to ride, along with Wayne's background in starting and riding young horses, and their combined experiences in managing different barns, Liberty Equestrian has been a winning combination for years.
Gail is an advocate of classical dressage. She has been teaching classical dressage for over 25 years and has ridden and studied under international trainers such as Charles de Kunffy, from Hungary, and Colonel Von Ziegner, from Germany. Gail has an amazing eye when it comes to working with horses and teaching students as well as an ability to teach you how to feel what is going on with horse and rider. Gail will work with the rider to achieve balance in the saddle and develop a true connection with the horse.
Of Gail's many successes with students, one that stands out is Jessica Jo Tate (JJ). After 10 years of riding with Gail, JJ was able to go to Europe and ride with Olympian Gyula Dallos. She has since gone on to be a successful FEI trainer and has also competed in the Young Horse World Chamionships. Gail has had many other students who have gone on to their own professional status as instructors, trainers, and working toward being a judge.
Wayne Kiehnau has been training horses since the age of 18. For many yeas, he was working with Quarter Horses and competing in the Quarter Horse circuit. Since partnering with Gail in 1989, he has changed his focus to breaking young horses and training horses in classical dressage. A professional's professional, Wayne has started horses for well-known trainers such as Ann Jennings, of Pigeon Creek Farm, and Jayne Ayers, of Hearthstone Farm.
In addition to riding and teaching, Gail and Wayne bring a vast knowledge and experience in the care of horses. They will always put the horse's care and comfort first, adjusting to the individual needs of the horse.
Liberty Equestrian Training Center and Dressage Services strive to create a learning place for the rider and a comfortable place for the horse.
